The art studio was enlarged and heating installed. Likewise, the living space was renewed and expanded according to a civic standard of living.

« After being away for a long time I returned to Ins. I was termpted to do as Agamemnon did when he returned home from the trojan war: kneel down and kiss the earth. »
Albert Anker to Albert de Meuron in may 1894

After Ankers death in 1910 the house stayed in the posession of the family. His descendants kept the house safe as a whole, including the art studio with all its content, unchanged till this day. Thanks to these circumstances, todays visitors can take a journey thrue time from the moment they set foot on the property.

The veranda behind the house and the living room from the late 19th century are still exactly the same as in historic images that show Anker amidst his family.
