The foundation „Albert Anker- Haus Ins“ was formed in 1994 with the purpose to suppot the proprietors in conserving the house and its presentation to the public.

When the foundation was formed, the owning family brought in the whole inventory of the house including the artwork. Meanwhile the great great grandson of Anker, Matthias Brefin, also handed the property to the foundation to a price already fixed at the time of the foundations formation. The foundation is a non- profit organization and aims to protect and preserve the monument and its rich content. Its task is the education about Ankers art and work surrounding in the socio- cultural context in his time aswell as his reception in the 20th century and in the present time. 2009 the Albert Anker- Haus was added to the inventory of cultural goods of national relevance by the swiss government.

Thrue numerous donations of documented single objects from Albert Ankers area of life aswell as works of art by the artist by private collectors the foundations inventory grew substantially.
