Garden Menu

Located in front of the house is the beautiful, french style garden with rare roses, seasonal flowers, boxtrees, fruit trees and herbs.

Behind the house lays the vast garden that originated as the orchard of the farmhouse. The garden contains a cozy gardenhouse with old deck chairs. The huge linden tree stems from the era of the houses construction, the chestnut tree was brought back from Tessin as a tiny seedling by Albert Anker about 150 years ago.

Concerts are held regularly in the garden. The new art pavilion will be constructed in the rearmost part of the property.

In this garden Albert Anker used to relax or spend his leasuretime with his family. The old utensils for outdoor games such as cricket, boccia and badmington are still on site.

The grandchildren recall how much Albert Anker could rejoyce about succesfull moves. When a child won a game he used to shout out: „Come here and let me give you a kiss!“
