The unique art studio that Albert Anker built in his house and which stayed nearly untouched until this day conveys a lot of the artists spirit and the contemporary taste of the 19th century. The art studio with its mesmerizing atmosphere is open to the public. It’s the only one of its kind from this era with mostly original installment. The visitor expects the artist to return to his easel any minute!

Information on the construction phase 2021 – 2024:

The project to transform the Albert Anker House into the Albert Anker Centre is in full swing. The art pavilion will be completed in the summer of 2022, after which renovation work will begin on the Albert Anker House, which is expected to last until the spring of 2024. During this time, the Albert Anker House will be closed for security reasons and cannot be visited. We are already looking forward to the reopening in spring 2024 and will then be happy to welcome you to the new Albert Anker Centre.
